This week went a little sideways on me. I didn't get to work on a post to upload.
Normally I am in the office teaching and running qualification exams and signing certs. This week I've been in the field doing some CWI work. 10 hour days in the middle of a lot of nothing. The scenery is nice if you like desert settings. Today we are not welding, we are doing some pressure testing.
One of the things I've always liked about the NDE business, at least the area I'm in (Oil & Gas), is the changing scenery, the travel, New people. I'm not sure I could do a regular 9-5 job after 30 plus years of this. A bunch of pipeline, a few power plants, some food processing facilities, hydro dams, and some jobs on the launch facilities at Vandenburg AFB. It's been something.
There are a lot of jobs in the world, not all of them give you the opportunity to see so many different things. I typically work in the US, but I've traveled to the middle East.
